Scrap yard versus Salvage Yard
Door County Scrap Metal is strictly a scrap yard. We do not salvage any of the vehicles or their parts. Your vehicle will be rendered in such a way that it would be deemed unsalvageable.
What you need
- Current drivers license
- Title free of any leans – Don’t have a title? We can run the vin to check for any leans and have you fill out a junk bill of sale once cleared.
All vehicles are purchased on a per ton basis.
- Whatever the going rate for auto bodies is multiplied by the weight of the vehicle will be your price.
How to get the most value out of your car*
- Remove the gas tank
- Remove the air bag(s)
- Remove all fluids
- Remove all tires
- Remove the mercury switch if your vehicle has one.

Deductions to the payout will be made for each of these items listed above if still on vehicle when scrapping it.
